Floyd "Electronic Tribute" CDs re-released
New 2-CD set will combine previous releases
Vitamin Records Inc.
will release "Welcome to the Machine: The Electronic Tribute
to Pink Floyd" on Sept. 3.
The album will combine two previous Floyd tribute CDs from the Los
Angeles, Calif., label in a single 2-CD set.
The album
features 23 Floyd songs including "Time," "Is There
Anybody Out There?," "Lucifer Sam," "Welcome
to the Machine," "Learning to Fly," and "Brain
Damage." Artists include George Sarah, who's worked
with Information Society, Uberzone, and Swayzak; as well as Mitchell
Sigman, keyboardist for Berlin.
Vitamin has
released dozens of similar tributes to acts as diverse as Led Zeppelin,
The Police, Yanni, and Ricky Martin, in swing, jazz, string and
electronic styles. The first "Electronic Tribute to Pink
Floyd" came out two years ago. The sequel was released
on Feb. 5, 2002.
