A cache of previously unpublished photos of Pink Floyd will be featured in an exhibit later this year by photographer Andrew Whittuck. Taken in 1967, the photos of Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Rick Wright have sat in Whittuck's possession, unpublished and unseen, ever since. "Some of the shots were taken in my bedroom at my parents' house in Hampstead in (June) 1967, which doubled as my studio at the time, since I had only just left college at the London College of Printing the previous year," explains Whittuck in an exclusive interview with "Floydian Slip"™. "The other shots were taken at Abbey Road whilst they were recording and at clubs like the UFO and at the Alexandria Palace in July and August that year. The shots were part of several photo stories that I did that summer with writer Farrukh Dhondy," he adds. Whittuck's other collaborations with Dhondy included the Maharishi and the Beatles, Allen Ginsberg and others. "I knew that I had (the Floyd photos) and I was waiting for a good time to market them. It is true that I had forgotten about the black and white images, which, ironically, are the ones there is the most interest in," he says. Whittuck plans to exhibit the photos later this year.
