| "Pink
Floyd Live at Pompeii" film to be released on DVD
"Director's cut" will include restored footage
Record
Collector
magazine has confirmed rumors that the 1972 film "Pink
Floyd Live at Pompeii" will be issued on DVD.
In its February
issue, the English magazine reports the Adrian Maben film
will be released by Universal in the spring. The reissue will include
"newly restored in-concert footage, as well as an unedited
studio run-through of 'Dark Side of the Moon' and pre-performance
scenes," according to the publication.
The film,
without the additional footage, is already available in the VHS
format.
The original
film, shot in an ancient amphitheater in Pompeii on Oct. 4-7, 1971,
includes "Echoes, Part 1," "Careful with That Axe Eugene,"
"A Saucerful of Secrets," "One of These Days," "Set
the Controls for the Heart of the Sun," "Mademoiselle
Nobs," and "Echoes, Part 2."
Addendum:
Universal Music has confirmed the U.S. release date for the DVD
