Toronto native Bob Ezrin has been named to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. He will be inducted at a ceremony during the Juno Awards in April. Ezrin, 55, has produced, played and written material with Pink Floyd. His contributions have appeared on "The Wall," "A Momentary Lapse of Reason," and "The Division Bell" albums, as well as on David Gilmour's "About Face." He's also produced material for Kiss, Alice Cooper, Rod Stewart, Peter Gabriel and Lou Reed. "This is the greatest honor that has ever been bestowed on me," he said. "Nothing is dearer to me than being recognized in my homeland. It is also humbling to be put in the company of so many true icons." The academy is sending invitations to some artists who have worked with Ezrin. It's unknown whether any members of Floyd will be invited. In the past, artists have appeared in video greetings to congratulate inductees. Nominees for the hall of fame are suggested by industry insiders and fans. A committee drafts a list from these suggestions and selects two inductees each year. (Posted: Feb. 5, 2004)
