| Roger
Waters to debut opera segment
Performance to be part of Malta celebration
Pink
Floyd co-founder
Roger Waters will
debut a portion of his new opera, "Ca Ira," at an April
30 celebration to mark the nation of Malta's entry into the European
Union (EU).
The Times
of Malta reported that Waters will premier a 15-minute
segment of the composition.
The event
will run between 8:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. at the Grand Harbour,
and will be accompanied by a light show by German artist Gert
Hof.
The news comes
on the heals of an announcement that a
recording of the opera, about the French Revolution, will likely
be released this year, with a possible European tour to follow.
