| David
Gilmour guests on Alan Parsons album
"A Valid Path" is fourth solo album from "Dark Side"
engineer
Pink
Floyd guitarist
David Gilmour will
appear on the upcoming album from Alan Parsons.
The album, "A Valid Path," will be released by Artemis
Records on Aug. 24.
Parsons's
association with Floyd began in the early '70s, when he engineered
the "Atom Heart Mother"
(1970) album. More famously, he also engineered "Dark
Side of the Moon" (1973).
Parsons has
also worked with The Beatles, Wings,
The Hollies, and Al Stewart. His
Alan Parsons Project released several albums starting in 1975, scoring
eight Top 40 hits, including "Eye in the Sky," which went
to #3 in the summer of 1982.
"A Valid
Path" is Parsons's fourth album without the "Project"
moniker and his first record in five years. In addition to Gilmour,
the electronica-styled album features appearances by P.J.
Olsson and The Crystal Method.
