Eddie Vedder provides vocals on Jack Irons album
Former Red
Hot Chili Pepper drummer Jack Irons will
include Pink Floyd's "Shine on
You Crazy Diamond" on his next album.
The 11-song
album, "Attention Dimension," will be released in August.
"Shine On" features vocals by Eddie Vedder
(Pearl Jam), and bass by Les Claypool (Primus,
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade).
Irons was
a founding member of the Chili Peppers, and has drummed with many
other bands, including Pearl Jam and Neil
Young.
In 2001, Claypool
included a version of "Shine On" on his "Live Frogs—
Set 1" album. (The track is labeled the "Jack Irons Version,"
without explanation.) "Set
2" released later that year was a re-recording of Floyd's
1977 "Animals" album.
