Former Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Jack Irons will include Pink Floyd's "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" on his next album. The 11-song album, "Attention Dimension," will be released in August. "Shine On" features vocals by Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), and bass by Les Claypool (Primus, Les Claypool's Frog Brigade). Irons was a founding member of the Chili Peppers, and has drummed with many other bands, including Pearl Jam and Neil Young. In 2001, Claypool included a version of "Shine On" on his "Live Frogs— Set 1" album. (The track is labeled the "Jack Irons Version," without explanation.) "Set 2" released later that year was a re-recording of Floyd's 1977 "Animals" album. (Posted: July 6, 2004)
