DVD prop up for bid
Proceeds of eyeball auction to benefit the homeless
Homelessness
organization Crisis is auctioning the eyeballs
seen on the cover of the recent release of Pink
Floyd's "Pulse" DVD. Proceeds
of the auction will go to benefit the homeless.
The auction
runs on eBay through December 20. Visit
the item online now.
One of only
10 such props created for the DVD project, the eyeballs stand approximately
six feet tall and have been signed by designer Storm
Thorgerson and the band's Nick
Mason, Rick Wright
and David Gilmour,
who is a longtime supporter of Crisis.
"The
eBay auction will not only raise much needed funds for the charity
but will also raise awareness of the plight of the homeless at a
time of year when they are most vulnerable," Gilmour says.
The eBay auction
coincides with the broadcast of Pink Floyd's "A Performance
of The Dark Side of the Moon," filmed at Earls Court in 1994,
which forms part of the "Pulse" DVD. The performance is
scheduled for Dec. 15 on BBC1.
