It will be nice when the film comes out and we can, after having seen it, put some of his responses in context.

  2. No news yet on a commercial release date. According to the PR firm handling the film, they expected to ink a distribution deal as a result of the film fest, as that’s how it usually works.

We were at the screening on Saturday evening and I was a little disappointed to see the Q&A released online as it does give away certain parts of the film. It’s a beautifully done film, captures the spirit of the tour in an amazing way and provides a beautiful narrative from Roger. Can’t wait to see it again.

  4. @Peggy: Thanks for sharing. Would you call it more of a documentary? Or more of a live concert film? Does it include the entire “Wall” show? Also, RE: release of the Q&A online, Roger seems not to have minded, since he tweeted about it!

  5. Peggy says:

It was definitely a concert film. I wrote a review which is posted on my website and over on Brain Damage. The sound is BEAUTIFUL, better than any I have heard before in a concert film. The viewer gets to see the entire show, including some footage of “Hey You” shown from behind the wall and you get to see the boys playing “behind the wall” from behind the wall, as Roger comes off stage at the end.

The non-concert footage shows Roger (sometimes alone, sometimes with friends or family) making a trip from his home to Italy. Again, visually stunning, touching and moving.

Re: the Q&A, I know that Roger didn’t mind (I noticed that he posted it on his facebook page) and it’s great for it to be out there but personally, I would not have wanted to be hearing about some parts of it without having seen the film. If you are near Toronto, there is another screening on Sunday.

  6. Peggy says:

Oops, meant “outside the wall” from behind the wall. Still working on my coffee here!

  7. Thanks, again. Looking forward to getting a chance to see it.
