Billboard: The Endless River debuts at #3

Pink Floyd‘s new album “The Endless River,” released Nov. 10, has debuted on the Billboard 200 album chart at #3.

The album was bested only by Foo Fighters‘ debut of “Sonic Highway” at #2, and Taylor Swift‘s third week at #1 for her album “1989.”

If “The Endless River” climbs to #1, it’ll be Floyd’s fifth #1 album, following “The Dark Side of the Moon” (1973), “Wish You Were Here” (1975), “The Wall” (1979) and “The Division Bell” (1994).

“The Endless River” debuted on the U.K. charts at the #1 position last week.

Billboard has created an infographic showing Floyd’s chart activity over the years. The band’s only studio album that failed to chart on Billboard was “A Saucerful of Secrets” (1968).

Contest: “When the Wind Blows” Blu-ray DVD

Jimmy Murakami‘s 1986 animated film features nearly 25 minutes of music from Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters and his Bleeding Heart Band.

The first time on Blu-ray, this region-free disc is limited to 3,000 units and includes “Jimmy Murakami: Non-Alien,” a 2010 documentary about the filmmaker.

You’ll need to correctly answer a trivia question about the film to qualify to win.

Deadline to register: End of day, Sunday, Nov. 30.

“Floydian Slip” coming to KOZX 98.1 (Mountain Grove, MO)

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on KOZX 98.1 FM in St. Robert, Mo., starting Nov. 30. The station will carry the show Sundays at 11 a.m. CT.

“The Rock of the Ozarks” is a 3,000-watt classic rock station serving the Mount Grove area.

“Floydian Slip” was heard in that area from 2010-13 on KKID in Rolla, Mo.

More than 60 affiliate stations have joined the show’s Random Precision Radio Network, created in Summer 2009 when we began syndicating our show from our Vermont studio.

“Floydian Slip” coming to KLOO 106.3 FM (Eugene-Springfield, OR)

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on WLOO 106.3 FM in Albany, Ore., starting Jan. 4. The station will carry the show Sundays at 11 p.m. PT.

KLOO is a 100,000-watt classic rock station serving the Eugene-Springfield market, ranked the 150st largest market in the country by Nielson Audio, formerly Arbitron. The station also broadcasts into the Portland area.

More than 60 affiliate stations have joined the show’s Random Precision Radio Network, created in Summer 2009 when we began syndicating our show from our Vermont studio.
