Presidential hopeful pledges to reunite Pink Floyd

Posted February 3, 2016 by Floydian Slip

Just when you thought the current never-ending presidential campaign couldn’t possibly intersect with the legacy of your favorite rock band, candidate John Kasich has managed to wed the two.

Republication presidential hopeful and Ohio governor Kasich replied to a question posed by a CNN reporter about his favorite concert experience by praising Pink Floyd and “The Wall.”

“I don’t even have to think twice. It was the best,” he says of the Roger Waters’ show he saw in Pittsburgh. “If I’m president, I am going to once and for all try to reunite Pink Floyd to come together and play a couple songs,” he adds.

We think a Constitutional amendment might be easier.

Really??? Seriously??? Drop it , Asshole!!!

Ha! I saw that yesterday and posted it to one of the Floyd FB groups. It’s amazing how upset it made people… Seemingly making him less popular. At most, I believe he was only trying to express his fandom in a jovial manner, albeit spiced with a little hyperbole as most pandering rhetoric tends to include. It’s the first, I think, to hear any politician show admiration for the band without some drug context. Not to mention that I think Kasich and Rogers don’t agree on a lot of things. I was happy to see this. (I’m still not voting for him, though I don’t think I will be given a chance)

I don’t think he realizes that Nick has died and Roger and David are at odds. The best he could do is Nick and one other for an appearance. Now, if he wants a tribute band, he could do far worse than the Aussie PF with Lorelei McBroom.

  4. Nick Mason is alive. Rumors of his and David Glimour’s death is an internet hoax. Richard Wright died at home of an undisclosed form of cancer on 15 September 2008, aged 65. Pink Floyd co-founder Roger “Syd” Barrett died July 7, 2006 at the age of 60, reportedly due to complications from diabetes. May they rest in peace.

To all my fellow Floydians, “Shine On You Crazy Diamonds !!!”
