readers' choice award 2002Floydianslip.com voted "Best Vermont Web Site"
Vote tabulation snafu delays announcement

Floydianslip.com was named "Best Vermont Web Site" in The Burlington Free Press Readers' Choice Awards.

Each year the daily newspaper, the largest in Vermont, polls readers and publishes their favorites in dozens of categories. Results of the 2002 awards appeared in the Friday, March 29 edition. News of floydianslip.com's win wasn't announced until later, when it was discovered the paper hadn't counted all the votes it received.

"I had visions of swinging chads in my head, but they tell me it was considerably more clear cut," explains "Floydian Slip"™ host and webmaster Craig Bailey. "The first time around they had failed to count any of the electronic ballots they had received."

Champ 101.3, which airs the "Floydian Slip"™ radio program, was named "Best Radio Station." The station's morning team of "Corm, Coach and Lana" was named "Best Radio Personality."

Bailey created the Web site in spring 1995. Approximately 1,250 people visit the site each day.
