Pink
Floyd #2 in BBC 6 Music listeners' poll
Band ties Beatles for most albums in top 50
Pink Floyd's
"Dark Side of the Moon"
album came in at #2 on BBC 6 Music's "The Glorious 50."
The list of 50 albums was compiled from listeners voting for their
favorite albums from over the last five decades years.
Floyd had
three albums on the list. In addition to "Dark Side" (1973)
at #2, "The Wall"
(1979) came in at #15, and "Wish
You Were Here" (1975) held the #20 spot.
The band tied
The Beatles for most albums on the list, and bested the Fab
Four's highest entry, "Revolver," which came in at #3.
The Stone
Roses' self-titled album held the top position. Groups with
two albums on the list were Radiohead, U2, Oasis
and Jimi Hendrix.
