whip craicRoger Waters headlines variety show
Debut of "Ca Ira" overture on the program

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters will be the headliner at Whip Craic, a variety show, to be held at London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 16. He will premiere the overture to his new opera, "Ca Ira," which he spent much of the '90s composing.

Waters will be joined by Sheila Ferguson, lead singer of the Three Degrees; the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis; and a number of performers representing a wide variety of the entertainment industry.

The event will benefit the Countryside Alliance, a organization in London that promotes the interests of rural people, including field sports and wildlife management.

Four-hundred-thousand supporters of the alliance marched through London last month. Event organizers are expecting more than 5,000 to attend the concert.

Tickets are £25 to £150 and are available from the Royal Albert Hall Box Office at 020 7589 8212 or online at www.royalalberthall.com.
