Reissue of Roger Waters' historic
1990 concert slated for June
Wall Live in Berlin," Roger
Waters' all-star performance of his magnum opus
at the site of the former Berlin Wall in the summer of 1990, will
be reissued in three formats on June 24.
Music will re-release a remixed and remastered CD of the
performance, along with new artwork, photos and liner notes. The
new mix will be the work of original engineer Nick Griffiths.
will also make its debut in the Super Audio CD (SACD) format, and
DVD. The SACD and CD formats contain two discs with the entire two-hour-plus
concert. The SACD offers a SACD Surround Sound layer and a SACD
stereo layer, which are only compatible with SACD players. The DVD
and SACD will include a 5.1 Surround Sound mix produced from the
original Griffiths multi-tracks.
The DVD will
include a new 30-minute documentary on the event, footage never
used during the concert of actor Rupert Everett
portraying Pink, some of Gerald Scarfe’s
animation footage, set and character designs, and production stills.

at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz. Proceeds benefited the Memorial
Fund for Disaster Relief.

Lemper, the East Berlin Radio
Orchestra and Choir, the Military Orchestra of
the Soviet Army and original album conductor Michael
Kamen. Also appearing as actors were Albert
Finney, Tim Curry and Marianne Faithfull.
album was released Sept. 11, 1990. It climbed to number 56 on the
Billboard chart. The video came out shortly after, and has since
been certified platinum.
