"Dark Side" makes Zagat's Top 10
Beatles, Springsteen dominate

Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" was named the ninth most popular album of all time in Zagat Survey's new Music Guide.

The firm polled more than 10,000 people to create its list of the 1,000 most popular albums. The poll includes 20 genres and 80 years of recorded music.

The survey also found fans listen to music 24 hours a week; spend an average of $343 a year on recorded music; and own an average of 516 albums.

Zagat Survey is better know for its guides of hotels and restaurants. This is the first time the company has covered music.

Zagat's Top 10:

  2. "Abbey Road," Beatles
  3. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," Beatles
  4. "The Joshua Tree," U2
  5. "White Album," Beatles
  6. "Kind of Blue," Miles Davis
  7. "Darkness on the Edge of Town," Bruce Springsteen
  8. "Revolver," Beatles
  9. "Dark Side of the Moon," Pink Floyd
  10. "Achtung Baby," U2
