Columbia Records will release David Gilmour's "On an Island" on March 6. It'll be the first solo album from Pink Floyd's guitarist since 1984's "About Face."

Gilmour has also announced a series of concert dates, beginning with a show in Dortmund, Germany, on March 10.

After the European shows, he'll come to North America for a 10-show tour of five cities. The North American leg begins April 4 with two nights at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

"On an Island" will feature guest appearances by David Crosby and Graham Nash on the title cut, Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright, Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine), guitarist Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music) and Jools Holland (Squeeze).

Gilmour produced the album, along with Manzanera and Chris Thomas. Orchestral arrangements were by Zbigniew Preisner.

Tour dates and other details are available at Gilmour's new Web site, which was launched Dec. 7.
