<\/a>In October, Rufus Publications<\/strong> will publish “Peter Green \u2014 The Albatross Man,” which will include a new recording featuring David Gilmour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The recording is a new version of “Need Your Love So Bad,” which includes a recently-discovered vocal recorded by Green in his mother’s attic in the 1960s. Gilmour recently contributed guitar to the track.<\/p>\n

Green co-founded Fleetwood Mac<\/strong> in 1967 and left the band in Spring ’70 after a period of mental decline exacerbated by his use of LSD. He died in 2020.<\/p>\n

Rufus Publications says for the three years leading up to his passing, he’d been participating in compiling this book, which is devoted to his life and work.<\/p>\n

Three versions of the book will be made available: The “ultra-limited edition,” limited to 50 copies, and the “deluxe” edition, limited to 500, will include the music on vinyl and CD. The third edition will not.<\/p>\n

Metallica<\/strong> guitarist Kirk Hammett<\/strong> is featured on the second song in the new release: a new version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Man of the World.”<\/p>\n

Gilmour and Hammett both participated in the February 2020 Peter Green tribute concert, organized by drummer Mick Fleetwood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
