{"id":11019,"date":"2022-08-26T17:51:06","date_gmt":"2022-08-26T21:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=11019"},"modified":"2022-08-26T17:51:06","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T21:51:06","slug":"hipgnosis-documentary-completed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2022\/08\/hipgnosis-documentary-completed\/","title":{"rendered":"Hipgnosis documentary completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/p>\n<p>Deadline<\/strong> reports director <strong>Anton Corbijn<\/strong> has completed &#8220;Squaring the Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis),&#8221; a feature-length documentary about the venerable album sleeve design shop.<\/p>\n<p>Founded by <strong>Storm Thorgerson<\/strong> and <strong>Aubrey &#8220;Po&#8221; Powell<\/strong> in the &#8217;60s, the collaborative produced many sleeves for <strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong> and its members, as well as many other bands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Growing up in the late &#8217;60s and &#8217;70s, I was obsessed with music and everything connected to it \u2013 especially the album covers,&#8221; Corbijn tells Deadline. &#8220;The record sleeves were a huge part of my education and I really enjoyed making this film as it allowed me to revisit the things I loved from that time. I clearly recall the moment I first saw the sleeve for &#8216;Atom Heart Mother&#8217; by Pink Floyd, and the <strong>Peter Gabriel<\/strong> sleeves.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The film includes new interviews with <strong>Roger Waters<\/strong>, <strong>David Gilmour<\/strong> and <strong>Nick Mason<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s produced by <strong>Raindog Films<\/strong>\u2019 <strong>Ged Doherty<\/strong>, <strong>Trish D.
