Omega Auctions<\/strong> are selling today the purple and orange floorboards featured on the cover of Pink Floyd<\/strong> co-founder Syd Barrett<\/strong>‘s 1970 album The Madcap Laughs.<\/p>\n

Estimated to go for \u00a310,000 ($12,662), as of this writing the current bid is \u00a35,000 ($6,331) with three bids registered.<\/p>\n

\"TheDesigner Storm Thorgerson<\/strong> of Hipgnosis<\/strong> and photographer Mick Rock<\/strong> shot Barrett crouched on the floor of his London flat for the cover of his The Madcap Laughs album. Prior to the shoot, Barrett painted the floorboards alternating colors of purple and orange.<\/p>\n

Today’s seller purchased the flat and removed the boards during renovations. There are approximately 70 planks. Most are approximately 2.7 meters long \u2014 just less than 9 feet.<\/p>\n
