The auction, to be held Nov. 8, will benefit <strong>Harefield Healing Garden Charity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>VW issued the special edition in the mid-&#8217;90s when it sponsored Floyd&#8217;s tour of The Division Bell. Based on the Mk3 Golf Cabriolet, the Pink Floyd Edition features unique badging, color-keyed bumpers and mirrors, special seat upholstery inspired by the &#8217;94 European leg of the tour, and a high-quality sound system with factory Pink Floyd logos.<\/p>\n<p>Few examples of the Pink Floyd Edition are believed to still exist today, and this is the only example once-owned by a member of the band.<\/p>\n<p>Mason acquired it many years ago with the intention of restoring it to its original condition \u2014 a project that went unfinished.<\/p>\n<p>Winner of the auction will also receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A pair of signed drumsticks<\/li>\n<li>A signed copy of &#8220;Into The Red,&#8221; Mason\u2019s book about classic racing cars<\/li>\n<li>Four signed Floyd LPs<\/li>\n<li>A selection of Floyd and Volkswagen t-shirts; and<\/li>\n<li>Several signed DVDs, including &#8220;The Story of Wish You Were Here,&#8221; on the album&#8217;s 50th anniversary this year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mason will sign the car, purple with manual transmission, and a photo of his signing will also accompany the auction package.<\/p>\n<p>Harefield Healing Garden is a natural space within the grounds of the Harefield Hospital that provides a sanctuary from the stress and anxieties of the hospital\u2019s wards and theatres for patients and their families.<\/p>\n<p>The Iconic Auctioneers auction takes place Saturday , Nov. 8 at 11.00 a.m. local time at NEC, Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iconicauctioneers.com\/1995-volkswagen-golf-iii-pink-floyd-rec16154-1-nec-1125\">Read more about the auction<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Addendum (Nov. 17, 2025): The car sold for: \u00a37,875<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pink Floyd drummer and co-founder Nick Mason will put up for auction his Pink Floyd Edition Volkswagon Golf Cabriolet.
