{"id":1437,"date":"2010-07-07T18:07:32","date_gmt":"2010-07-07T22:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=1437"},"modified":"2010-08-17T20:39:08","modified_gmt":"2010-08-18T00:39:08","slug":"rare-barrett-recording-goes-unsold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2010\/07\/rare-barrett-recording-goes-unsold\/","title":{"rendered":"Rare Barrett recording goes unsold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A rare live recording of Pink Floyd founder <strong>Syd Barrett<\/strong> went on the auction block last month, but failed to sell.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am currently awaiting to see if a pending post-sale offer is to be completed,&#8221; Bonhams auction house consultant <strong>Stephen Maycock<\/strong> told Floydian Slip.<\/p>\n<p>Maycock says bidders failed to reach a reserve price for the recording, which expected to fetch upwards of $5,000, on the day of the auction June 23. He declined to name the reserve price.<\/p>\n<p>The reel of \u00bd-inch tape contains a concert performed Jan. 27, 1972,  at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge, England. The show included Barrett in one of his last live performances sitting-in for three numbers with the <strong>Last Minute Put Together  Boogie Band:<\/strong> &#8220;Number Nine,&#8221; &#8220;Gotta Be a Reason,&#8221; &#8220;Let&#8217;Roll,&#8221;  and &#8220;Sweet Little Angel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The recording also includes  performances by <strong>Hawkwind<\/strong> and <strong>Pink Fairies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A rare live recording of Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett went on the auction block last month, but failed to sell. &#8220;I am currently awaiting to see if a pending post-sale offer is to be completed,&#8221; Bonhams auction house consultant Stephen Maycock told Floydian Slip.
