This fall, EMI\/Harvest <\/strong>will release “An Introduction to Syd Barrett<\/strong>,” a compilation of remixed and remastered songs Pink Floyd<\/strong>‘s co-founder recorded with the band and during his brief solo career.<\/p>\n

The title will include as a bonus track “Rhamadan,” a previously unreleased Barrett recording, to be made available as a download.<\/p>\n

Floyd’s David Gilmour<\/strong> is Executive Producer of the album. Working with Damon Iddins <\/strong>and Andy Jackson<\/strong> at his Astoria houseboat studio, he’s remixed six tracks for the project: “Matilda Mother”; “Here I Go”; “Octopus”; “She Took a Long Cold Look,” renamed here “She Took a Long Cool<\/em> Look”; “Octopus”; and “Here I Go,” which now features a bass guitar track, lacking in the original recording.<\/p>\n

Jackson remastered all the other tracks from the analoge originals.<\/p>\n

“Rhamadan” is a 20-minute instrumental by Barrett, which has never-before been released. It’ll be available as a download to those who purchase the CD or the entire album online.<\/p>\n

    The CD will be sold in a Digipak sleeve by long-time Floyd designer Storm Thorgerson <\/strong>along with a 20-page booklet containing lyrics.<\/p>\n
