{"id":2590,"date":"2011-03-11T09:25:06","date_gmt":"2011-03-11T13:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=2590"},"modified":"2011-03-11T09:25:06","modified_gmt":"2011-03-11T13:25:06","slug":"new-ron-geesin-album-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2011\/03\/new-ron-geesin-album-out\/","title":{"rendered":"New Ron Geesin album out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Avant garde<em> <\/em>recording artist <strong>Ron Geesin<\/strong> has released his latest album, &#8220;RonCycle 1: The Journey of a Melody.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Geesin has worked on the suite, composed of 16 movements, since 1986. &#8220;The reason that it has all taken so long is that, as it grew, it frightened me so much that I had to walk away for long periods,&#8221; Geesin explains.<\/p>\n<p>He credits <strong>Mark Ayres<\/strong>, known for his work on the BBC\u2019s &#8220;Dr. Who,&#8221; with helping complete the project by transferring parts of the project from analog tape to hard drive. &#8220;The whole digi-structure was becoming overwhelmingly complicated,&#8221; Geesin explains.<\/p>\n<p>Geesin is best known to Pink Floyd fans for his work on Floyd&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/pink-floyd\/albums\/album.php?id=5\">&#8220;Atom Heart Mother&#8221;<\/a> (1970) and his collaboration with Floyd&#8217;s <strong>Roger Waters <\/strong>on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/pink-floyd\/albums\/album.php?id=34\">&#8220;Music from &#8216;The Body'&#8221;<\/a> (1970).<\/p>\n<p>He was a guest on Floydian Slip in November 2010.
