<\/a>Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour\u00a0<\/strong>refutes a story published by The London Evening Standard<\/strong> yesterday that said surviving members of the band “could” reunite at this year’s Olympics festivities to be held in London.<\/p>\n

In what must increasingly seem like a non-paying part-time job, Gilmour released a statement “that there is no truth in recent media speculation about Pink Floyd reuniting to perform for the 2012 London Olympics.”<\/p>\n

The Standard had quoted a band “insider” as saying, “It’s long been made clear it would take something very special to get Pink Floyd back together again and it doesn’t get any bigger than the Olympics,” adding, “it’s hoped everything can be confirmed in the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n

The most recent reunion of Gilmour, Roger Waters<\/strong> and Nick Mason<\/strong> happened at the end of Waters’s May 12, 2011, performance of “The Wall” when the three joined on stage in London to perform “Outside the Wall” (pictured).<\/p>\n
