{"id":3582,"date":"2012-01-07T10:37:26","date_gmt":"2012-01-07T14:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=3582"},"modified":"2012-01-07T10:37:26","modified_gmt":"2012-01-07T14:37:26","slug":"abbey-road-studios-opening-to-public","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2012\/01\/abbey-road-studios-opening-to-public\/","title":{"rendered":"Abbey Road Studios opening to public"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Studio Two of <strong>EMI<\/strong>&#8216;s Abbey Road Studios will host a public event in March giving people a first-hand glimpse into the space that bands including <strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong> have used to make some of the world&#8217;s most lasting music.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the studios&#8217; 80th anniversary, authors\u00a0<strong>Brian Kehew<\/strong> and <strong>Kevin Ryan<\/strong> will give\u00a0an audio-visual presentation titled &#8220;80 Years of Recording at Abbey Road Studios.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The event will cover recordings made in the studio by Floyd,\u00a0<strong>Sir Edward Elgar<\/strong>, <strong>The Shadows<\/strong>, <strong>Peter Sellers<\/strong>, <strong>Helen Shapiro<\/strong>, <strong>The Beatles<\/strong>, <strong>The Hollies<\/strong>, <strong>The Zombies<\/strong> and <strong>Kate Bush<\/strong>, as well as film scores such as &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; and &#8220;Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kehew and Ryan are the authors of &#8220;Recording The Beatles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Two events scheduled for March 10 are sold out. Two more have been added for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 11.
