{"id":4119,"date":"2012-09-10T18:42:50","date_gmt":"2012-09-10T22:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=4119"},"modified":"2012-09-10T18:42:50","modified_gmt":"2012-09-10T22:42:50","slug":"early-pink-floyd-dwelling-for-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2012\/09\/early-pink-floyd-dwelling-for-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Pink Floyd dwelling for sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The London home where the founding members of <strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong> lived while the band took shape is up sale for the first time in decades.<\/p>\n<p>The three-story property in Stanhope Gardens, Highgate, in northern London, is expected to fetch \u00a31.2 million at a Sept. 20 auction.<\/p>\n<p>Floyd&#8217;s <strong>Roger Waters<\/strong> and <strong>Nick Mason<\/strong> moved into the home in September 1963, joined a year later by <strong>Syd Barrett<\/strong>. <strong>Rick Wright<\/strong> also lived there.<\/p>\n<p>The property was owned by <strong>Mike Leonard<\/strong> \u2014 the band briefly called itself <strong>Leonard&#8217;s Lodgers<\/strong> \u2014 a lecturer at Hornsey College of Art who was instrumental in developing the band&#8217;s trademark light shows.<\/p>\n<p>Leonard died earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The structure is sorely in need of renovations. It still features Leonard&#8217;s workshop as well as a number of other remnants of the Floyd&#8217;s time spent there: drums and a homemade xylophone remain in the home along with stage lights and a Binson Echorec 2 echo unit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The London home where the founding members of Pink Floyd lived while the band took shape is up sale for the first time in decades.
