{"id":4759,"date":"2013-08-07T08:27:55","date_gmt":"2013-08-07T12:27:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=4759"},"modified":"2013-08-07T08:27:55","modified_gmt":"2013-08-07T12:27:55","slug":"dark-side-inspired-radio-play-to-premiere-aug-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2013\/08\/dark-side-inspired-radio-play-to-premiere-aug-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Dark Side-inspired radio play to premiere Aug. 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Darkside,&#8221; a radio drama by noted playwright <strong>Tom Stoppard<\/strong> (center) inspired by Pink Floyd&#8217;s 1973 &#8220;The Dark Side of the Moon,&#8221; will premiere on BBC Radio 2 on Monday, Aug. 26 at 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The production, commissioned by the BBC, was recently previewed for an invite-only audience of dignitaries, including Floyd drummer <strong>Nick Mason<\/strong>, at a BBC &#8220;happening.&#8221; Attendees donned headphones and were treated to a simultaneous light show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love it,\u201d Mason told The Independent. \u201cBut I&#8217;m tempted to text Tom and tell him it\u2019s really great \u2014 but there was a lot of actors talking over the music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stoppard&#8217;s first major success was \u201cRosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead\u201d in 1966.
