{"id":6096,"date":"2015-03-07T10:28:26","date_gmt":"2015-03-07T14:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=6096"},"modified":"2015-03-07T10:28:26","modified_gmt":"2015-03-07T14:28:26","slug":"floydian-slips-bizarre-collection-of-antiques-curios-5-astoria-cd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2015\/03\/floydian-slips-bizarre-collection-of-antiques-curios-5-astoria-cd\/","title":{"rendered":"Floydian Slip&#8217;s Bizarre Collection of Antiques &#038; Curios #5: Astoria CD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>As we lead up to\u00a0\u201cFloydian Slip\u201d Show #1,000 the week of June 8, we\u2019re digging into the archives to share relics from the show\u2019s past.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In late 2000, long-time Pink Floyd recording engineer <strong>Andy Jackson<\/strong> was releasing his &#8220;Obvious&#8221; album, and joined us on the show for a chat.<\/p>\n<p>For the sake of audio fidelity \u2014 this was before the days of Skype \u2014 he offered to record his end of our telephone conversation while he talked in his home studio in the U.K. A few days later he dropped by Astoria, <strong>David Gilmour<\/strong>&#8216;s houseboat studio, burned the audio onto a CD, and mailed it to me in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Safe to say, that CD remains the most unique compact disc in my collection.
