{"id":6511,"date":"2015-07-06T08:24:43","date_gmt":"2015-07-06T12:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=6511"},"modified":"2015-07-06T08:24:43","modified_gmt":"2015-07-06T12:24:43","slug":"surrogate-bands-contest-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2015\/07\/surrogate-bands-contest-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"Surrogate Bands contest winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lucas Ballesteros<\/strong> of <span class=\"st\">Ciudad Aut\u00f3noma de Buenos Aires<\/span>, Argentina, won the Floydian Slip&#8217;s 5th Annual Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd Cover Contest.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas won with his recording of Floyd&#8217;s &#8220;Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun,&#8221; and receives $200 in Floyd merchandise from <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.pinkfloyd.com\">shop.pinkfloyd.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been playing music since I found a wrecked guitar in the house I moved to when I was six years old,&#8221; Lucas tells us. &#8220;Years later I repaired that guitar, learned to play some music and from that (point) on, I never stopped playing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lucas is our first ever two-time winner: He won last year&#8217;s contest with his recording of &#8220;Echoes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Second prize, awarded by random drawing, went to <strong>Gilad Cohen<\/strong> of Ridgewood, New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to everyone who entered this year, and watch for our 6th annual contest coming in Spring 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lucas Ballesteros of Ciudad Aut\u00f3noma de Buenos Aires, Argentina, won the Floydian Slip&#8217;s 5th Annual Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd Cover Contest.
