This week he revealed some of the key team members working on the project.<\/p>\n<p>Water told the Standard he will co-produce &#8220;The Wall&#8221; with <strong>Eric Fellner<\/strong> of Working Title productions, which staged &#8220;Billy Elliot The Musical&#8221;; he&#8217;ll write the adaptation with <strong>Lee Hall<\/strong>, who wrote the &#8220;Billy Elliot&#8221; book and lyrics, as well as the film&#8217;s screenplay. The show will be directed by <strong>Simon McBurney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Billy Elliot&#8221; premiered in London&#8217;s West End in 2005 and was nominated for nine Laurence Olivier Awards, winning four. <strong>Elton John<\/strong> wrote the show&#8217;s music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plan is to stage it in London first,&#8221; Waters says. &#8220;I\u2019ve set up a production company with Eric Fellner but there\u2019s no time-frame yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Waters has said in the past he plans to inject some humor into the production.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Wall&#8221; was made into a film in 1982, directed by <strong>Alan Parker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roger Waters has talked about creating a musical theater adaptation of &#8220;The Wall&#8221; for more than a decade.
