The performance was recorded at <span class=\"st\">March\u00e9 International du Disque et de l&#8217;Edition Musicale<\/span> (MIDEM) in Cannes on Jan. 29, 1986.<\/p>\n<p>The discs will be released Sept. 16. The package will also be available digitally.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Townshend solo songs and classics from <strong>The Who<\/strong>, the band performs Gilmour&#8217;s &#8220;Blue Light&#8221; from his &#8217;84 &#8220;About Face&#8221; album.<\/p>\n<p>The band includes: Townshend (vocals, guitar); Gilmour (guitar, vocals); <strong>Peter Hope-Evans<\/strong> (harmonica); <strong>Chucho Merchan<\/strong> (bass); <strong>Simon Phillips<\/strong> (drums); <strong>John Rabbit Bundrick<\/strong> (keyboards); <strong>Jody Linscott<\/strong> (percussion); <strong>The Kick Horns<\/strong>: <strong>Simon Clarke<\/strong>, <strong>Roddy Lorimer<\/strong>, <strong>Tim Sanders<\/strong>, <strong>Pete Beachill<\/strong> and <strong>Dave Plews<\/strong>; and backing vocalists <strong>Billy Nicholls<\/strong>, <strong>Ian Ellis<\/strong>, <strong>Chris Staines<\/strong>, <strong>Gina Foster<\/strong> and Coral <strong>Gordan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Blue Light&#8221; will appear on the DVD and the CD.<\/p>\n<p><em>Thanks to <strong>Ian Schulze<\/strong> for the heads-up.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 1986 show that was part of David Gilmour&#8216;s stint with Pete Townshend&#8216;s Deep End band is about to be released. &#8220;Face to Face&#8221; will be a two-disc DVD\/CD set of the band&#8217;s appearance on German TV&#8217;s &#8220;Rockpalast&#8221; program.
