{"id":7749,"date":"2017-03-03T10:39:24","date_gmt":"2017-03-03T14:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=7749"},"modified":"2017-03-06T19:31:51","modified_gmt":"2017-03-06T23:31:51","slug":"pink-floyd-mixing-console-up-for-bid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2017\/03\/pink-floyd-mixing-console-up-for-bid\/","title":{"rendered":"Pink Floyd mixing console up for bid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Abbey Road mixing console <strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong> used when making its seminal 1973 album &#8220;The Dark Side of the Moon&#8221; will be auctioned off this month.<\/p>\n<p>Auction firm <strong>Bonhams<\/strong> will place the item on the block March 27 as part of its &#8220;TCM Presents \u2026 Rock and Roll Through the Lens&#8221; sale.<\/p>\n<p>The console, a custom-built EMI TG12345 MK IV pulled from Abbey Road studio two, was used between 1971 and 1983. In addition to Floyd, the console was used by artists such as <strong>Paul McCartney and Wings<\/strong>, <strong>George Harrison<\/strong>, <strong>Ringo Starr<\/strong> and <strong>Kate Bush<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It still works, and comes with a letter of provenance from <strong>Ken Townsend<\/strong>, former Abbey Road Studio Manager.<\/p>\n<p>The console will be on view at Bonhams Knightsbridge March 19 until the auction and is expected to easily fetch a &#8220;significant&#8221; six-figure price.<\/p>\n<p>Finding the space for it in your rec room is <em>your<\/em> problem.<\/p>\n<p>(Thanks to Bob Quick for the heads-up.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Abbey Road mixing console Pink Floyd used when making its seminal 1973 album &#8220;The Dark Side of the Moon&#8221; will be auctioned off this month.
