{"id":7913,"date":"2017-05-05T14:54:19","date_gmt":"2017-05-05T18:54:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/?p=7913"},"modified":"2017-05-05T14:54:57","modified_gmt":"2017-05-05T18:54:57","slug":"pink-floyd-drum-technician-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floydianslip.com\/news\/2017\/05\/pink-floyd-drum-technician-dies\/","title":{"rendered":"Pink Floyd drum technician dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong> drum technician <strong>Clive Brooks<\/strong> has died.<\/p>\n<p>The news was announced by the official <strong>Nick Mason<\/strong> Facebook account. &#8220;With a heavy heart our Pink Floyd family say(s) farewell to dear Clive Brooks, drum technician extraordinaire, who sadly passed away,&#8221; the post reads.<\/p>\n<p>Brooks, a London native, was drummer with bands Uriel, Egg and The Groundhogs in the late-&#8217;60s through mid-&#8217;70s.<\/p>\n<p>He became a drum technician for Pink Floyd in the &#8217;80s, working on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, and The Division Bell album and tour.<\/p>\n<p>He also served as drum tech for <strong>Jeff Wayne<\/strong>&#8216;s 2007 &#8220;The War of the Worlds&#8221; tour, <strong>Toto<\/strong>, <strong>Robbie Williams<\/strong> and Floyd tribute act <strong>The Australian Pink Floyd Show<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to Wikipedia, on June 13, 1981, opening night of the last leg of &#8220;The Wall tour,&#8221; Brooks filled in for surrogate band drummer <strong>Willie Wilson<\/strong> who was ill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pink Floyd drum technician Clive Brooks has died.
