\nRowman & Littlefield<\/strong> has published “Reinventing Pink Floyd: From Syd Barrett to The Dark Side of the Moon” by Bill Kopp<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The title focuses on the transitional period of the band during the late-1960s and early-’70s following the departure of co-founder Syd Barrett<\/strong> and the group’s hugely successful album “The Dark Side of the Moon.”<\/p>\n

Craig Bailey<\/strong>, producer\/host of the syndicated Pink Floyd radio show “Floydian Slip,” is one of several sources interviewed by the author. Others include early Floyd manager Peter Jenner<\/strong> and a variety of notable musicians: Steve Howe<\/strong>, Yes; Davy O’List<\/strong>, The Nice; Robyn Hitchcock<\/strong>; and Floyd collaborators Ron Geesin<\/strong> and Willie Wilson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jerry Shirley<\/strong>, Humble Pie’s drummer who also appeared on Barrett’s post-Floyd recordings, wrote the book’s foreword.<\/p>\n

Publishers Weekly<\/a> wrote, “Kopp’s smart and well-researched history is a welcome addition to the Pink Floyd library.”<\/p>\n

Kopp is a music journalist whose work has appeared in Record Collector, Prog, Shindig!, Billboard, Electronic Musician, Goldmine and others. He’s written liner note essays for 20 albums, including titles by Edgar Winter<\/strong>, Rick Wakeman<\/strong>, The Ventures<\/strong>, Dave Mason<\/strong>, and Iron Butterfly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
