Pink Floyd Records will re-release its 1971 compilation album “Relics” on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl on May 18.<\/p>\n

The album was remastered was James Guthrie<\/strong>, Joel Plante<\/strong> and Bernie Grundman<\/strong>, the same team responsible for the spate of other recent Floyd re-issues.<\/p>\n

“Relics” includes singles; B-sides; and tracks from the band’s first three albums: “The Piper at the Gates Of Dawn” (1967), “A Saucerful of Secrets” (1968) and the soundtrack to the film “More” (1969).<\/p>\n

At the time of its original release, it boasted a previously-unreleased number written by Roger Waters<\/strong>, “Biding My Time,” recorded in July 1969.<\/p>\n

“Relics” was the first album to include the Floyd singles “Arnold Layne” and “See Emily Play”; and the original studio recording of “Careful with That Axe, Eugene,” originally the B-side of “Point Me at the Sky.”<\/p>\n

The sleeve features the original black and white drawing by Floyd drummer Nick Mason<\/strong>, with the subtitle “A Bizarre Collection of Antiques & Curios.”<\/p>\n

All tracks are the original stereo versions, except for “Arnold Layne” and “See Emily Play,” which are the original mono mixes.<\/p>\n

The label has been busy re-releasing the Floyd catalog on vinyl. A re-issue of “Pulse” was announced earlier this week (“Pulse to be reissued on vinyl<\/a>“).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
