“Floydian Slip” turns 30 years old this month.<\/p>\n

Though the exact date is lost to time, it was January 1989 when I returned from holiday break senior year as a Television-Radio major at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y., and took over what had been called “The Pink Floyd Hour” on the school’s carrier current radio station “Solid Rock 106-VIC.”<\/p>\n

Renaming it “Floydian Slip,” I aired\u2020<\/em> the show Sunday nights for only one semester, until my graduation in May that year.<\/p>\n

Regardless, milestones that end with zeroes always give one reason to pause and reflect. What I started on little more than a whim as a fresh vicenarian is now something I still continue to focus on as a less-than-fresh quinquagenarian \u2014 Google it \u2014 without regret.<\/p>\n

So as 2018 becomes 2019, thanks for listening, and shine on.<\/p>\n

\u2020Strictly speaking, 106-VIC didn’t put out anything “over the air.” The station reached the IC campus over an AM frequency pumped through the campus electrical system; and at 105.9 FM on the county’s cable television system, for anyone motivated enough to split their cable and run a line to their stereo.
