Unattended Luggage (2018)

"Unattended Luggage" is a 3-disc box-set of three previously-released Nick Mason projects: "Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports" (1981); "Profiles" (1985), recorded with Rick Fenn; and Fenn and Mason's soundtrack to the film "White of the Eye" (1987).

Its August 31, 2018, release marked the first time in more than 20 years the titles had been available in CD and LP format. Additionally, "White of the Eye" had never been released on compact disc.

The project began with a suggestion by Fenn that Warner Music re-issue "Profiles." The label took things two steps further by suggesting the other two albums be included to create a box-set.

While Mason and Fenn had recorded a few other feature length motion picture soundtracks — including "Body Contact" (1987) and "Tank Malling" (1988) — they weren't included. "They're not very good," Mason told Rolling Stone. "And that's a kind way of putting it."

The release of "Unattended Luggage" serendipitously coincided with Mason taking his new band Saucerful of Secrets on a tour of Europe beginning Sept. 2. The group had debuted in London earlier that year in May.
