Reports: New Pink Floyd album coming this fall

Posted July 5, 2014 by Floydian Slip

Two individuals close to the Pink Floyd camp are posting to social media that a new Pink Floyd album will be released in October.

Polly Samson, wife of Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and his writing partner for the past couple decades, tweeted today: “Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called ‘The Endless River.’ Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swansong and very beautiful.”

Vocalist Durga McBroom-Hudson, who’s toured with Floyd and Gilmour, posted a photo previously posted to Instagram by Samson (“Photo may show David Gilmour working on new album”), with the caption, “During a session recording the NEW PINK FLOYD ALBUM!!”

More details as they’re available.

    OMG! Very excited!
But I guess this is more a sequel to “Division Bell” than a true-blue NEW Floyd album. Then again, “Animals” was made up of leftovers from “Wish You Were Here”… and “Final Cut” was made up of leftovers from “The Wall”.

Now, one question, of course… is THIS really what the “Gilmour solo album” rumors were pointing to? Probably.

And lastly, we’ll at least get a Waters solo album coming soonish as well, right? So, if we play both of them back to back it’ll feel we’re getting a new Floyd album with BOTH Gilmour and Waters, right?? 🙂

Could it be????/ Would it be????? Let’s see…

Hello Floydians, Hopefully all is true and we will be
treated to some new music. After all we know that things
can change with Floyd. It does sound promising though.
Fingers crossed, this fall will be a good one. They didn’t
say what month though, but it doesn’t matter now does it.
    Floyd is coming.

    Sincerely Your’s
    Kenny

Picked up this news through Martin Glover (Youth – Killing Joke) as he’s been working on (the production of?) this album. Exciting times.
