David Gilmour engineer Kit Woolven dead at 71

Kit Woolven, who co-engineered David Gilmour‘s 1984 album “About Face,” died yesterday. He was 71.
Woolven was best known for his work with Thin Lizzy, including Lizzy-splinter projects from Phil Lynott and Wild Horses. He also did work with David Bowie, UFO, Tony Iommi and others.
He recorded “About Face” with Andy Jackson. That album was produced by Gilmour and Bob Ezrin.
Cause of death was not announced.

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on WARU 101.9 FM in Wabash, IN, Saturday, Jan. 22. The station will carry the show Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET.
“101.9 Rocks” is an 3,600-watt classic rock station serving the area north of Indianapolis.
It’s the latest station to join the Random Precision Radio Network, a collection of more than 100 broadcasters that air “Floydian Slip,” produced in our Shelburne, Vt., studio.
