Clifton David Broadbridge, a native of Belleville, Ontario, now living in Nashville, was named lead vocalist of “LEGACY β€” A Pink Floyd Show,” a Floyd tribute led by Harry Waters and officially sanctioned by his father, Floyd co-founder Roger Waters.

Broadbridge was selected from thousands of applicants who responded to an open audition call this spring. Three-thousand submissions were reviewed by Harry himself. According to The Intellegencer, Harry narrowed the field to 40 submissions and then eight before settling on Broadbridge.

Broadbridge, 48, has spent 20 years performing with Classic Albums Live, a project that performs live recreations of classic rock albums by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, as well as Floyd and others.

“It’s very surreal,” Broadbridge tells The Intellegencer. “The music is so important to so many people, and because Roger is presenting the show, and directing the show, and producing it, there is such a high bar to it.”

Broadbridge joins the band that also includes:

  • Harry Waters, B3 Organ, Piano & Vocals
  • Graham Broad, Drums
  • Edo Scordo, Guitar & Vocals
  • Antonello Pudva, Guitar
  • Eva Avila, Backing Vocals
  • Genevieve Little, Backing Vocals
  • Dahniel Knight, Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals
  • Ryan Saranich, Saxophone, Percussion, Extra Guitar & Keyboards
  • Matt Riddle, Keyboards

Harry spent more than 15 years performing alongside his father on major tours, including “The Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall,” as well as the 2016 Desert Trip concerts.

LEGACY shows will focus on the Pink Floyd era of 1971-1979, and include some solo material from the elder Waters. Harry and drummer Graham Broad shaped the set-list together, paying tribute to the best-loved music from Floyd’s golden era, and building what Harry describes as an intentional arc across the evening.

The American leg of the tour launches Feb. 15 in Columbus, GA, with dates through Sept. 25 in St. Louis, MO. European dates will be announced soon. The entire tour is expected to include more than 100 venues.

Tickets went on sale Oct. 2 at www.RogerWatersLegacy.com.
