Vintage Floyd album becomes vintage wine

Posted November 19, 2009 by Floydian Slip

Wines That Rock has started selling a “Dark Side of the Moon”-branded wine.

The wine, a 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, is available for purchase at the company’s Web site and will be in stores in 2010.

“Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the hauntingly dense, timeless character of Pink Floyd‘s masterpiece album,” the company says.

The “Dark Side” vintage is the first of three rock-inspired wines the company has made. The others are the Rolling Stones “Forty Licks Merlot” and a “Woodstock Chardonnay.”

The Floyd variety comes in 3-, 6- and 12-bottle packs for $50.97, $101.94, and $203.88, respectively.

Wines That Rock was founded by Ron Roy and is a partnership between rock management company RZO and the Mendocino Wine Co.
