Pink Floyd app releasing tomorrow

Posted November 13, 2011 by Floydian Slip

This Day in Music will release a Pink Floyd iPhone/iPad app tomorrow.

The app is officially sanctioned by the band, according to the company, and will feature 100,000 words devoted to Floyd for 366 days and will sell for £1.99 ($2.99).

This is the second app from the Hayfield, Derbyshire, U.K. company, whose other assets include a Web site and book. It released its popular Led Zeppelin app in ’10 and is planning a third to be devoted to Bob Dylan.

In addition to information on the Floyd’s activities for every day of the year, the app will include trivia questions, notes about every Floyd studio track, loads of photos and graphics, embedded video (“Point Me at the Sky”), a ringtone (“Shine on You Crazy Diamond”) and wallpaper.

This Day in Pink Floyd will be available in the iTunes Store Nov. 14. For more information, visit the company’s Web site.
