Posted January 7, 2012 by Floydian Slip

Studio Two of EMI‘s Abbey Road Studios will host a public event in March giving people a first-hand glimpse into the space that bands including Pink Floyd have used to make some of the world’s most lasting music.

As part of the studios’ 80th anniversary, authors Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan will give an audio-visual presentation titled “80 Years of Recording at Abbey Road Studios.”

The event will cover recordings made in the studio by Floyd, Sir Edward Elgar, The Shadows, Peter Sellers, Helen Shapiro, The Beatles, The Hollies, The Zombies and Kate Bush, as well as film scores such as “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring.”

Kehew and Ryan are the authors of “Recording The Beatles.”

Two events scheduled for March 10 are sold out. Two more have been added for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 11. Tickets are £75. Buy them online.
