Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets announces North American dates

Pink Floyd co-founder and drummer Nick Mason will bring his group Saucerful of Secrets to North America in 2019.

The group announced its first concerts outside of Europe: 25 dates in Canada and the United States beginning March 12 in Vancouver and ending April 22 in Washington, D.C.

The group debuted in London this May, before launching a tour of Scandinavia and Europe that ran during September.

The band consists of Mason, Spandau Ballet‘s Gary Kemp, former Floyd bassist Guy Pratt, Blockheads guitarist Lee Harris, and producer/composer Dom Beken. They play the early music of Pink Floyd.

The 2019 dates also include five more U.K. dates:

Book devoted to Pink Floyd memorabilia coming

This Thursday, Nov. 1, Carlton Books will publish “Pink Floyd in Objects” by Glenn Povey.

The hardcover book details more than 100 items of diverse memorabilia related to the band including a 1964 Architectural Abdabs press clip, the early group’s Bedford van, the ill-fated Floyd blimp, the band’s VCS3 synthesizer, David Gilmour‘s black Stratocaster guitar, an “Animals” 8-track tape and much more.

Povey founded the Floyd fanzine “Brain Damage” and was its editor from 1985 to 1993. He co-wrote “Pink Floyd in the Flesh: The Complete Performance History” and wrote “Echoes: The Complete History of Pink Floyd.” He’s written extensively about the band for Mojo, Record Collector, Classic Rock and other music magazines.

“Pink Floyd in Objects” contains 224 pages and is priced at £20.

We’ll give away copies on an upcoming episode of “Floydian Slip.”

“Floydian Slip” coming to Awesome Radio UK

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on Awesome Radio UK starting Thursday, Oct. 25.  The station will carry the show Thursdays at 7 p.m. GMT.

Awesome Radio UK is a streaming station operating in Covent Gardens, London.

It’s the latest station to join the Random Precision Radio Network, a collection of more than 100 broadcasters that air “Floydian Slip,” produced in our Shelburne, Vt., studio.

“Floydian Slip” coming to KEPW 97.3 FM (Eugene, OR)

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on KEPW 97.3 FM in Eugene, Ore., starting Friday, Oct. 19.  The station will carry the show Friday nights/Saturday mornings at 12 midnight PT.

“Homegrown Community Radio” is a 100-watt community station serving Eugene in western Oregon.

KEPW’s joining our network is made possible by courtesy of affiliate station KLOO 106.3 FM in Albany, Ore. As an existing affiliate station also covering Eugene, KLOO has market exclusivity to the Eugene listening area, but graciously allowed KEPW to join the network.

KEPW’s the latest station to join the Random Precision Radio Network, a collection of more than 100 broadcasters that air “Floydian Slip,” produced in our Shelburne, Vt., studio.

We make available our show free to non-commercial broadcasters operating in markets that are not served by a commercial “Floydian Slip” affiliate.
