Listeners to Floydian Slip affiliate WBTN 1370 AM in Bennington, Vt., might have noticed our show was interrupted this weekend midway through the program.
WBTN’s contract with the Red Sox trumps the station’s agreement with Floydian Slip. So in the event there’s a conflict — as there was this weekend when the team rescheduled its game to Saturday afternoon — the station is required to go with the Sox.
Over-the-air listeners hear the ballgame; online listeners hear a blend of music that’s not “Floydian Slip.” (The station’s Sox contract doesn’t allow the game to be streamed, and the station’s protocol is to provide a blend of music in its place.)
In this best-of-three-game series, the Sox would seem to always come out on top.
