Pulse to be reissued on vinyl

Posted March 24, 2018 by Floydian Slip

“Pulse,” the 1995 double-disc document of Pink Floyd‘s mid-’90s “Division Bell” tour will be re-released on heavyweight vinyl this spring.

Pink Floyd Records will release the album May 18 as four 180-gram LPs, each with its own outer sleeve, plus a 52-page hardcover book, all contained in a thick card slipcase.

One bonus on this new set is the inclusion of “One of These Days,” recorded Oct. 21, 1994, at Earl’s Court. It was included on the original LP and cassette versions of “Pulse,” but left off the CD pressing. It was also included on the ’95 CD single for “High Hopes.”

The re-issue was remastered from original tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. Hipgnosis’s Aubrey Powell and Peter Curzon handled design duties. The two worked on the original sleeve with late Hipgnosis co-founder Storm Thorgerson.

Over the past few years, Floyd has released its entire studio collection as stereo remasters on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl. All have been mastered from original analogue studio tapes with original album artwork.

Most recently, this past November, they released “A Collection of Great Dance Songs” (1981) and “Delicate Sound of Thunder” (1988).

Random Precision Radio Network grows to 100 stations

Posted March 19, 2018 by Floydian Slip

“Floydian Slip” is now carried by 100 radio stations.

Ushering our network into triple digits is WRLF 94.3 FM in Fairmont, WV, which will begin airing the show on April 1.

“The New 94 Rock” will air “Floydian Slip” each Sunday morning at 10 ET.

WRLF is 3,600-watt rock station serving north-central West Virginia’s Morgantown-Clarksburg-Fairmont metro market, as defined by Nielson Audio. The market is ranked #175 out of 300.

We started building the Random Precision Radio Network in summer 2009 after ending a 14-year run on a single Burlington, Vt., station. We began with a single station. And then two. And then three.

While ever reaching 100 would have seemed impossible in the beginning, getting there is a testament that hard work and persistence — a whole lot of persistence — can yield results.

Having a legendary band like Pink Floyd at the center of it all doesn’t make it any harder either.

Shine on.
