Video: Waters/Gilmour reunion performance

Roger Waters has made available a “two-minute taster” of his reunion gig with David Gilmour, which took place at the Hoping Foundation charity event in July.

“The sound quality is crap but it was a great night for me, and for him, and also for ‘US and THEM’,” he writes on his Web site.

The video seems to be a hand-held job, shot from the audience of 200.

The duo have given the entire 29-minute set to the foundation, which plans to post it at 5 p.m. Monday UK time.

New Syd Barrett compilation to include lost track

This fall, EMI/Harvest will release “An Introduction to Syd Barrett,” a compilation of remixed and remastered songs Pink Floyd‘s co-founder recorded with the band and during his brief solo career.

The title will include as a bonus track “Rhamadan,” a previously unreleased Barrett recording, to be made available as a download.

Floyd’s David Gilmour is Executive Producer of the album. Working with Damon Iddins and Andy Jackson at his Astoria houseboat studio, he’s remixed six tracks for the project: “Matilda Mother”; “Here I Go”; “Octopus”; “She Took a Long Cold Look,” renamed here “She Took a Long Cool Look”; “Octopus”; and “Here I Go,” which now features a bass guitar track, lacking in the original recording.

Jackson remastered all the other tracks from the analoge originals.

“Rhamadan” is a 20-minute instrumental by Barrett, which has never-before been released. It’ll be available as a download to those who purchase the CD or the entire album online.

Floydian Slip to air on KKID, Rolla/Salem, Mo.

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on KKID in Rolla/Salem, Mo., this Saturday, Aug. 7.

The show will air on KKID, “Rockin’ the Ozarks,” each Saturday at 4 p.m. Central time.

KKID is a 21,000-watt classic rock station broadcasting to central Missouri at 92.9 FM.

The station becomes the eighth affiliate to join the show’s Random Precision Radio Network, created last summer when we began syndicating our show from our Vermont studio.
